Frozen Banana & Peanut Butter Graham Bites

August 22, 2020 No Comments

Before I start this post let’s get something straight, frozen bananas are not ice cream. Even though I have a fro-nana machine that can make bananas into a creamy, soft-serve texture, it is still not ice cream. Is it a nice option to have? Sure! Is it fun to get creative with desserts? Most definitely. But will I be over here telling you to never eat ice cream and only make it out of bananas? Never!

Denying yourself by saying “never again will I eat ____” does not work. If you eat ice cream every night and you’d like to change that habit, we can work on that! We just want to do it from a place of options, not restrictions.

The reason I say all of this is because I have seen an increase of influencers posting cutesie photos of them eating “nice-cream” made from bananas. They go on about how it’s the same thing and you can avoid your cravings this way. If you want to change your habits sustainably, then this is not how it works. All ice cream is pretty nice in my opinion šŸ˜‰

All this to say, I came up with a fun frozen banana recipe for dessert but wanted to remind you that if you’re craving ice cream, go get it! If you’re not feeling ready to keep it in your house all the time, that’s okay. These frozen banana treats are a delicious option as well!

Side note…I always want to insert emojis into my posts but realizing I am on a computer and my keyboard does not switch over to that. I’m sure that will be invented one day or maybe I’m late to the game.

You probably didn’t come to this post for all of that though, so let’s get right to it!

Frozen Banana & Peanut Butter Graham Bites

Course Dessert, Snack
Keyword banana, dessert, frozen

Ingredients

  • 2 Bananas
  • 4 Graham Crackers
  • 1/3 cup peanut butter I wanted mine stickier but if you prefer, start with 1/4 cup peanut butter and see if it's enough for you.

Instructions

  1. Blend the peanut butter and graham crackers together to make it moldable

  2. Slice your bananas and place on a baking sheet tray with parchment paper

  3. Put the peanut butter graham mix on top of each banana slice

  4. Freeze and enjoy in about 20-30 minutes! Or let stay in the freezer after freezing and put in a sealable container. Pull them out when you'd like!

If you’re feeling extra fancy you could add chocolate chips on each banana slice before you freeze’m.
