Imitation Butter Beer Foam

Celebrating the end of spooky season 2021 with a foamy bang! An imitation butter beer foam that is! If you’re a fan of Harry Potter and if you’ve visited The Wizarding World at Universal Studios then you’ve had butter beer and you know how delicious it is.

I started research and really thinking about the flavor profile of butter beer and how I could make it myself. Some recipes called for ten or more ingredients and I just don’t have time for that. You probably don’t either! Plus, they were all ingredients I never use so hello food waste down the road.

This recipe requires three ingredients: heavy whipping cream, butter extract, and salted caramel topping. You could probably use regular caramel but c’mon, who doesn’t love salted caramel!?

I also felt afterwards that a couple of pieces of crushed sea salt on top (seriously, just a couple) would really seal it in. You’ll have to see for yourself!

I served mine over a vanilla cream ale to make it an alcoholic beverage. I love Cake Walk by Right Brain Brewery because it’s smooth, has a richer mouth feel and has no IBU. That means you won’t get any bitterness. It’s also 4.5% ABV which is pretty light. Alternatively, you could use cream soda as a non-alcoholic base.

If you make it, be sure to come say high on Instagram and cheers with me! See you in the kitchen!
