Hello and welcome to Nutrition Brewed! Thank you for visiting and checking out the new digs. I used to blog a while ago and had decided for a number of reasons that it was time to stop. Now that I’m starting back up again, I remember the nerves and feeling self-conscious about it from time-to-time.
In our society, it is so easy to compare ourselves to everyone and their picturesque worlds. Scroll through Instagram or Facebook and you may find the feeling. I found myself comparing myself and my writing style with other bloggers. I would see their posts, their recipes, their ability to manage it all and worry that I would not be someone that other’s would want to follow. How silly, right? But it’s how I felt.
Then I started reflecting on my mom and dad who have both been on paths much like this one- Mom is incredible artist and dad runs the Hunting Dog Podcast. Both of them have these successful creative outlets and it made me realize that I have been putting aside my own creativity and have felt this piece of my life missing for a while.
When I realized that if writing is something I enjoy so much, it was time to listen to the encouragement from my family and start anew. Steve has been patient as I told him for the last six…eight…twelve months that, “I want to start a blog again…no I don’t….yes, I do!” Gently, he helped me find that piece of my brain that said, “try.”
Ultimately, my goal is to write and publish a book…maybe even a couple. Recipe books with tidbits and side notes on managing life, children’s books encouraging healthy mind and body relationships, the sky is the limit! A new goal always starts with one step forward and today’s post is finally the first one. Cheers!
